Minh Anh Trading and Export-Import Joint Stock Company
Minh Anh Trading and Export-Import Joint Stock Company specializes in providing and installing HDPE waterproofing membranes. Currently, the company supplies HDPE membranes to brands such as Huitex (Taiwan), GSE (Thailand), Solmax (Malaysia), and HSE (Vietnam). These membranes are used as waterproof liners for environmental applications, pollution prevention, and protection against chemical corrosion. The products range in thickness from 0.3mm to 3mm and are installed using double seam thermal welding or extrusion welding techniques for pipe penetrations.
Applications of HDPE Waterproofing Membrane
HDPE waterproofing membranes have various applications in different fields:
– Lining the bottom of sanitary landfills.
– Covering sanitary landfills.
– Lining the bottom and top of aquaculture ponds.
– Floating cover membranes.
– Lining the bottom of water reservoirs in industrial zones.
– Waterproofing for dikes, dams, canals, and technical tunnels.
– Lining for waste disposal plants, chemical plants, and fertilizer factories.
– Lining for fuel storage tanks.
Environmental Resistance of HDPE Membrane
HDPE membranes can withstand environmental impacts as follows: waterproofing for dikes, hydropower dams, canals, and technical tunnels.
HDPE Membrane and Waterproofing Applications
HDPE membranes are used for waterproofing dikes, hydropower dams, canals, and technical tunnels. They have excellent waterproofing capabilities and mechanical properties.
HDPE membranes are also used to line the bottoms of waste disposal plants, chemical factories, and fertilizer plants to prevent harmful chemicals from leaching and contaminating groundwater. Additionally, they are used as liners for fuel storage tanks.
Environmental Resistance
HDPE membranes have the following environmental resistance capabilities:
– Resistant to chemicals, even strong acids.
– Not affected by fungi, bacteria, or termites.
– Excellent aging resistance against weather and climate effects.
Installation and Construction Methods for HDPE Waterproofing Membrane
1. Site Preparation
The site must meet the following standards before construction:
– The ground must have appropriate drainage ditches so that rainwater can drain away without affecting the quality and progress of the construction.
– The area for laying the membrane must be clean, flat, and free of standing water, with a stable ground.
– The ground must not contain gravel or other materials that could affect the geotextile and waterproofing membrane.
– The underlying ground must be stable according to the design.
– Installation of HDPE membranes should not proceed if any of the above conditions are not met.
2. Construction Process
The construction process includes the following steps:
– Receive the site that meets technical standards and requirements.
– Transport geotextile and HDPE from the warehouse to the site using a self-propelled crane.
– Install the geotextile and check the seams.
– Install the HDPE membrane according to the roll-out method.
– Use a loader to anchor the area where HDPE has been installed.
– Check the quality of the HDPE welds and hand over the site.
3. Explanation of the Construction Process
Installing Geotextile
The installation of geotextile is carried out as follows:
– After the crane brings the roll of fabric to the desired location, the installation team will roll out the membrane.
– Once unrolled, they will pull and adjust the fabric to the correct position for sewing the seams.
– Care should be taken not to tear or puncture the fabric and not to damage the ground or adjacent layers.
– Appropriate weights (e.g., sandbags) should be placed along the edges of the fabric to reduce risks from wind.
– When installing multiple rolls of geotextile continuously, attention must be paid to site drainage, wind direction, working surface, access points, and installation plans. The seams of the geotextile must be sewn immediately after laying, and properly laid geotextiles should be marked carefully.
– Workers need to stretch the roll of fabric and overlap the seams by at least 10cm.
Quality Check Before Sewing Geotextile
After opening, the geotextile sheets are counted and inspected for documentation. The geotextile must be checked and clearly marked for any damage such as tears, rips, or holes. Any holes in the geotextile due to improper foundation conditions must be marked for cutting and repair.
Sewing Geotextile
Sewing of geotextile must be done using specialized sewing machines, with seams 5-10cm from the edge.
Installing HDPE Membrane
The installation of HDPE can be performed using the roll-out method. After placing the HDPE roll in the correct position, the contractor will use a workforce (approximately 12-20 workers) to lay out the roll. Once the HDPE roll is laid out, it will be adjusted and stretched into position. Then, soil or sandbags will be used to secure the HDPE along the overlapping edges to prevent movement.
This is the basic procedure for the installation of HDPE waterproofing membranes. Implementing this process requires skill and attention to ensure construction quality. To ensure effectiveness and safety, it is essential to follow technical regulations and guidelines from manufacturers and experts in the field.
